Eastwood Elementary Library Corner

It’s time to check out some summer fun at your local libraries. Here’s a look at what’s you’ll find.
East Alton Public Library
The K-5 Summer Reading Program is now underway. Stop by the library on Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30-2:30 for musical performances, magicians, and more.
For preschool ages, story time is at both 10:30 and 1:30 on Tuesdays.

Wood River Public Library
Preschool - A six-week reading program will run on Tuesdays, beginning June 13th. This program will be held from 10:30 to approx. 12:00 with the exception of Tuesday, July 4th.
K-5th grade – A six- week reading program will run on Wednesdays beginning June 14. You can visit the library from 10:30 – 12:00 for this program.
Movies:
Wood River Public Library is also happy to entertain your child with movies each month. A partial list follows:

Hayner Youth Library
Summer programs will be happening at both, the Downtown Youth Library and Alton Square Branch.
The title of this year’s program is VOYAGE TO BOOK ISLAND
Storytimes will be held for two age groups, birth to 2 years,
and 2-5 years old.
Crafts for 6-11 year olds will be held on Wednesdays at 10AM
Read and Rant program with book discussions are for those in the 12-15 age group and are held on the following Saturday mornings:
Saturday, June 10th
Saturday, July 1st
Saturday, August 5th
In addition to these programs, students may earn a free book by reading a total of six hours in six weeks.
