EAMS PTO
Welcome Back
by Eric Frankford
Grandparents, parents, and guardians:
If you are new to East Alton Middle School, I would like to welcome you to our school. For those who are returning, welcome back.
Parents often wonder, “What can I do to help?” However, they do not always know what is needed or who to go to with ideas, suggestions, or concerns. Below are a couple of suggestions for parents who would like to help expand the educational opportunities of the students of EAMS.
1. Read your and review your Parent/Student handbook with your student. While the handbook does not list every possible rule, policy, or procedure, it answers frequently asked questions that a lot of parents have.
2. Do not be afraid to communicate with the school. If you are concerned about something that we can help you with, call or email us. A constant line of communication with your child’s teachers and support staff will keep small problems from growing into larger ones and really help to improve the education environment of our school. Contact information is listed in the Handbook and on our website www.easd13.org
3. Become involved with EAMS. There are many opportunities to volunteer and take part in our school. Take advantage of Meet the Teacher Night, Parent Conference Days, Chaperone Field Trips, and/or join the PTO.
If you are interested in joining, please fill out the following form and return it to the EAMS office -or- email me at efrankford@easd13.org.
