Notice Of Sale of Surplus District Vehicle

East Alton District 13 is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the following surplus vehicle, which has been declared surplus by action of the Board of Education on July 21, 2026.

TERMS

  • The vehicle is sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with no warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied.

INSPECTION

  • The vehicle can be inspected on August 5, 2026, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at 1030 3rd Street, East Alton, IL 62024, in the Eastwood Elementary parking lot. All questions may be directed to Brad Kamp at bkamp@easd13.org.

SEALED BIDS

  • The bidding period will begin on July 27, 2026, and end on August 7, 2026.  

  • All bids must be mailed to the following address with identified surplus (as shown below):

    • East Alton School District 13

    • ATTN: SEALED BID- SURPLUS VEHICLE: 2007 COBALT

    • 210 East St. Louis Ave., East Alton, IL 62024

  • Bids may be hand-delivered but must be sealed and addressed as shown above.  

  • All bids must be RECEIVED no later than 4:00 p.m. on August 7th, 2026.

BID OPENING- PUBLIC VIEWING

  • Bids will be opened in the office of the Superintendent on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at 210 East St. Louis Ave., East Alton, IL 62024.

BOARD ACTION

  • The EASD13 Board of Education is expected to consider the presented bids at its meeting on August 18, 2026, at 6:30 pm.  The successful bidder(s) will be notified following Board approval.

PAYMENT AND PICK UP

  • Payment must be made in cash or by bank-certified cheque by 3:30 pm on August 20, 2026.  

  • The vehicle must be picked up and removed from school property by 3:30 p.m. on August 21, 2026.  

  • Failure of the winning bidder to do so will result in the secondary bidder obtaining the winning bidder’s rights.

CONDITIONS

  • The District makes no representations regarding the condition nor fitness of the vehicle.

  • Known vehicle concerns: 

    • A/C is not working properly

    • The passenger window does not roll down.

  • The winning bidder is responsible for all title transfer, registration, taxes, licensing, and transportation costs. 

  • Ownership of the vehicle transfers only after payment is received in full and the title has been properly executed.

The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any bids and to waive formalities if it determines such action to be in the best interest of the District.
