Eastwood Families, This is a friendly reminder that doors open at 8:00 am for student arrival. Students dropped off before then are not supervised by district staff and will not be able to enter the building before 8:00 unless they are attending ESP or a regularly scheduled activity. Thank you.

Laiyah is Mrs. McCann's Outstanding Oiler for Responsibility because she always makes sure she comes to class ready to learn. She does her reading homework each night and gets it signed. She knows what is expected each day and doesn't need reminded on what needs to be done. Laiyah is a wonderful example to the class on how to stay on task. Mrs. McCann is so very proud of Laiyah and loves having her as part of their class family!

Amari is the Outstanding Oiler of Responsibility for Ms. Lakho’s class! He is always ready for class and follows the class steps daily. He is responsible for his learning by always trying his best to do the write thing. Amari is a model student when it comes to having your eyes watching, ears listening, and voice quite! Amari is a pleasure to have in Ms. Lakho's classroom family.

Ms. Howell says Avery is the BEST example of what being responsible means! Avery is always on task and follows directions the first time asked. He is very passionate about learning, and helps keep us on track to get the most out of every lesson. When Avery needs help, he uses problem solving steps to come up with a solution on his own. Avery is also a great friend to everyone in our school. Ms. Howell loves having him in their class family!!

Mrs. Campbell's class would like to nominate Miss Maya for our Outstanding Oiler of Respect. Our class chose Maya because she goes above and beyond in using manners and following school rules. Her friends say that she is kind and polite and treats them nicely. Maya also shows respect to all of the adults in Eastwood, whether it be at specials, lunch, or anyone she encounter in the day. She uses manners by always saying please, and thank you, and raising her hand at appropriate times. You will always catch Maya demonstrating hallway and classroom expectations, and even better is that she does it with a smile on her face. She is respectful, responsible, and safe when playing outside on the playground, and demonstrates how to be a good friend to others. Mrs. Campbell could go on and on about how delightful Maya is, and she feel extremely lucky to get to be her teacher this year. She makes Eastwood a great school because of her respectful and positive attitude. Way to go Maya!

Malaia was nominated by her peers as the Outstanding Oiler of Respect for Ms. Whiteford and Ms. Bee's class. Malaia's peers said that she follows all of our school expectations, she raises her hand, is calm and shares with her friends. Ms. Whiteford agree with her peers, Malaia is very respectful and is a great role model in our classroom and school.

The Oiler Market will be open during parent-teacher conferences on Tuesday and Wednesday this week in addition to regular hours on Thursday. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, stop on by!

We will use an online program to sign up for the conference time that works best for you. You will be able to quickly see what times are still available and select that time slot. If you have more than one child at Eastwood, you will be able to select multiple teachers from the same program.
