Mrs. Kribs and Mrs. McBride selected Mason as the Outstanding Oiler of Teamwork. Mason shows teamwork everyday in class. He is always encouraging to his friends and will cheer them on for all of their hard work. He has the biggest heart and wants to see all of his classmates succeed. He is great at taking turns and making sure everyone feels included!

Viroon is Ms. Lee's Outstanding Oilier of Teamwork. Viroon is always encouraging others around him. When we are working in teams in our classroom, he always helps his team when they need help. He is a great leader and someone that many students look up to! He shows great teamwork in my class.

Annabelle is an excellent example of teamwork in Mrs. Staten's classroom. She is a friend to all and works cooperatively with any group of which she is a part. Annabelle actively participates in class, contributing to problem-solving and demonstrating a willingness to take risks, even when she is unsure. Her calm and friendly demeanor helps create an environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued. Thank you, Annabelle, for being such a positive example of collaboration and teamwork!

Zayn is Mrs. Brueggeman's class Outstanding Oiler of Teamwork. Zayn is a very hard worker. He loves to work together with his classmates. He does great during group work and always makes sure everyone is included.

Mrs. Hinnen's Outstanding oiler for strong together is Raheem. Raheem has shown so much growth this year and we are so proud of him. I hope he continues to grow and learn the rest of the year. He will be great next year at middle school.

Dear East Alton SD 13 Families, It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the passing of Mrs. Kelly Booten. Mrs. Booten was a kindergarten teacher at Eastwood Elementary School. Mrs. Booten was a beloved member of our school community and will be greatly missed. The loss of a teacher can have a profound impact on students as they learn of Mrs. Booten’s death. Students may have a particularly difficult time in dealing with this loss, and we encourage you to talk with your child about their feelings. Grief counselors will be available at Eastwood Elementary and East Alton Middle Schools this week from 8:00am-2:35pm to assist those in need of support. Please join me in extending our heartfelt sympathy to the Booten family during this incredibly difficult time. Your support is greatly appreciated as we mourn the death of the passing of a truly passionate, dedicated teacher who so greatly impacted our community. Please note that there will be NO school on Tuesday, May 5 ,2026 to allow staff to attend the services for Mrs. Booten. East Alton District 13 Families,

Out of an abundance of caution, all East Alton District 13 after-school and evening activities are canceled for Monday, April 27, 2026, due to the forecast for severe weather.

-ESP will remain open, however, we encourage parents to pick up their children as soon as they are able to do so.
-All after-school practices, clubs, and evening events are canceled.
-Regular dismissal and transportation will occur as scheduled.

We will continue to monitor weather conditions and will communicate any additional updates through our normal communication channels.
