Brooklyn was chosen as Mrs. Schranck’s Outstanding Oiler of Integrity. Mrs. Schranck says integrity embodies all of the character education words we have focused on this year, and Brooklyn fits that description to a T. Brooklyn is respectful, responsible, caring, honest, cooperative, and shows self-control every day. Brooklyn is a member of Eastwood’s Student Leadership Council. She is an outstanding leader and role model for those around her. She takes great pride in her work and strives to do her best on all of her assignments. Keep up the great work Brooklyn! I know you will do great things in middle school!

Mrs. Hinnen and Mr. Hensley say their class voted Gauge as their Outstanding Oiler of Integrity. Gauge is an artist at heart. He enjoys drawing, but knows when to stop and focus. He asks questions, participates in class discussions, and helps others when needed. He takes great pride in what he does. He has kept us laughing all year long. Gauge will do great things at the middle school next year. :-)

Arie is Mrs Miles Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. Throughout the year, she has learned many things, but at times when math seemed tough, she asked for help and even practiced at home. Arie’s increasing independence in her daily work has helped her be a more confident kindergartener too. Stay determined! Great job, Arie.

Waylen is Mrs. Darr's Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. He is a hard worker. He continues trying even when it is challenging. He is always trying to figure out what went wrong when making a mistake. I have seen a lot of improvement this year and it is because he doesn't give up! Keep persevering Waylen and you will continue to make big strides!

Dallas is Ms. Conklin and Mrs. Collins class Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. Dallas has overcome many challenges this year. His attitude towards school has improved immensely. He continues to try his best even when its difficult. We are so proud of the positive choices he continues to make.

5th Grade Families

Mrs. Jones' class chose Wyat as the Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. Wyatt has been working so hard on waiting patiently until it is his turn. In addition, Wyatt has been working so very hard on his writing, which is not always easy for him. He has grown so much this year, and I am just so very proud of him. Keep persevering, Wyatt! I can not wait to see all of the great things you do next year at the middle school.

Della Ms. Baker’s Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. Della always keeps trying, no matter how hard something might be. She also always encourages her peers to do their best and picks them up when they feel discouraged. Della has been working really hard to control her emotions and has learned many great strategies to calm herself down. Della has grown so much since the beginning of the year, and I am beyond proud of her and her accomplishments. Way to go, Della, and keep up the great work!

Mrs. Keys said Odin immediately comes to mind when you hear the word perseverance. Odin is a hard worker who always does his best. No matter how hard something may be, he continues working at it, until done. Odin knows that not only is it okay to make mistakes, but that he "Can do hard things," as long as he doesn't give up. Congratulations Odin!

Jase was chosen as Mrs. Keys’s Outstanding Oiler of Cooperation due to his big heart. Jase is always willing to step up and help someone in need. During center time Jase works together with the others in the group, keeping them on task and helping them when they need it. Jase is also a great mediator in the room, encouraging others to use their words and talk through their problems. Way to go Jase!

Mrs. Booten and Mrs. McBride say Andre has shown perseverance all year long. He has been patient and willing to work hard, especially with writing and doing math. Andre tries his best, even when he is feeling frustrated. Andre doesn’t not give up when things get tough and that is why he is our Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance!! Fantastic job Andre!

Lionell Mrs. Naylor and Mrs. Green’s Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. He is a great example of someone who shows perseverance. He constantly works hard without giving up. He gives his full effort in his small groups. He uses a growth mindset on difficult assignments. If something is challenging for him he is quick to ask for help so that he can continue to complete it. Way to go Lionell.

Veda is Ms. Trask’s Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance because she never gives up when things get challenging. She will always find a way to work through any problem or situation that occurs. Veda is such a hard worker and has made so much improvement this year. I am so proud of you Veda, keep up the amazing work!

Mrs. McCann’s class has chosen Alyvia is our classroom's Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. Alyvia is not one to give up. If something in class is hard, she reminds herself just to keep trying and know that we can do hard things if we don't give up. I have firsthand heard her say something was hard, but then continue to work on it and later say, "I can do hard things" when she succeeds. Alyvia has a can-do attitude and a positive mindset. Good job, Alyvia. We are all so proud of you!

Maison is Mrs. Howell's Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. Mrs. Howells says he perfectly represents perseverance! I am so excited to nominate him as our Outstanding Oiler this month. Maison never says, "I can't do it." Instead, he always uses a growth mindset and keeps trying. He is eager to learn and is not afraid to make mistakes. Maison encourages all of his classmates to do their very best, stay kind, and be helpful. He is such a ray of sunshine! I love having Maison in class, and I'm so proud of him. Keep up the good work!

Myah is Mrs. Lakho’s Outstanding Oiler of Perseverance. Mrs. Lakho says she always has a growth mindset and tries her best on every assignment. She never gives up and has grown so much since the beginning of the year. She is a great example to her peers and is a pleasure to have in our classroom family.

Happening Tomorrow!!!! Enjoy a book walk, meet your favorite book characters, get temporary tattoos, indulge in snacks, grab free books, spend time with reading dogs, win attendance prizes, explore raffle baskets, and strike a pose at the photo booth – all at no cost! Congratulations to our fourth round of second-chance winners for our Superstar Tickets! Everyone who earned a Superstar Ticket during the month of April was entered into a second chance drawing, and these were our lucky winners! The remaining names will be transferred to our end of the year drawing, so stay tuned!
